RFK Jr.’s Autism Study

RFK Jr.’s AUTISM STUDY TO AMASS MEDICAL  RECORDS OF MANY AMERICANS*   *CBS news

RFK Jr., the presidentially appointed Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, is undertaking a study of autism. The department will amass private medical records from a number of federal and commercial databases.*         *ibid

Kennedy is not first appointed official to undertake such a study. During WWII, Dr. Hans Asperger, a licensed psychiatric pediatrician practicing at the University of Vienna, Austria  also undertook one.

RFK Jr.:   I recognize of course that autism. There’s a range of manifestations ranging from highly functioning children to children that are quite severely disabled.  And of course the research will account very carefully for that.*  *(ibid)

In her carefully researched book:  ASPERGER’S  CHILDREN: The Origins of Autism in Nazi Vienna,*  Edith Sheffer writes that, very early in the international game, Nazi leaders  recognized the tribal power inherent in a cooperative community kinship; and sensed how to manipulate it  into an autocracy.

Stressing the word “gemut,” (German for “soul”) they imposed a country-wide education system that taught growing children how to think and act cooperatively for the greater glory of the community. From this “community first” spirit grew a “nation first” gemut that rapidly transformed into Nazi law. *                                      * (Edith Sheffer, , Norton  & Co, New York, copyright 2018 )

Nazi officials then found they were faced with a significant number of children who were unable tothink and act cooperatively. Vienna’s pediatric psychologists diagnosed them as having “defective gemut”; and prescribed a stay at Spiegelgrund, a clinic specializing in what was termed “rehabilitation.” At Spiegelgrund those who couldn’t “rehabilitate” at all, were eliminated. (Many did not make past the first interview) Those who showed cooperative possibilities were held indefinitely and subjected to a daily routine of physical and emotional “discipline”. A handful of Spiegelgrund survivors told Sheffer their stories.  They take your breath away.  Spiegelgrund kept records and the records still exist.  Dr. Hans Asperger played a crucial role.

What role will Kennedy play?
