Happy Birthday to Eustacia Cutler
September 12, 2025

Happy Birthday to Eustacia Cutler, the amazing mother of Temple Grandin and the guiding light for all mothers who have a child with autism. The TGEC Autism Fund Board of Directors are wishing her a happy 99th birthday with a heartfelt thank you for sharing her life, energy and wisdom with all of us.

We are so proud to be part of the wonderful work that Eustacia has done over the years. Eustacia and her daughter started the Temple Grandin and Eustacia Cutler Autism Fund to provide information to families who have a family member with autism. Eustacia’s dream was to talk with experts from around the world and share that information with parents. So before there were podcasts, Eustacia had “conversations” and created timeless videos with superstars in autism such as Tony Attwood, Raun Melmed, Joseph Buxbaum, Orrin Devinsky, Gary Mesibov, Uta Frith, Cathy Pratt, Cathy Lord, as well as our President, Sally Burton Hoyle and, of course, Temple Grandin. In addition, there are countless videos with Eustacia and parents. We all remember when Julia Ormond, who played Eustacia in the Temple Grandin movie, presented Eustacia with Julia’s Emmy Award and said “We lost an award winning actress when Eustacia took on her role as an advocate for families.” Anyone who has seen Eustacia on stage would agree. Her presentations have audiences laughing and crying as she shares the joys and struggles of raising a child with autism. We hope that you have had the pleasure of reading her two books “A Thorn in My Pocket” and “Autism and Us” where she brings you into her world of understanding autism. But the most amazing thing about Eustacia is that she is not done. She just finished a podcast with Gerardo Gaya in Mexico for Iluminemos.org that will be posted soon.
Please support her work and her life with a birthday gift to the The Temple Grandin and Eustacia Cutler Autism Fund.
